New Grad Alert: Congrats to Corey Dobyns

September 6, 2024

Graduation season at The Coaching Guild is always bittersweet. I love seeing our students thriving and doing their thing in the real world. The thing about small student cohorts and how we select who goes into those small student cohorts is that I get to choose people I know will be friends for life - and when I selected Corey, I chose well.

Corey Dobyns is a brilliant, thoughtful, compassionate soul. She is one of the most mindful and intentional people I know. She has a heart for racial justice and has committed herself to that work in an uncommon way. Corey walks her talk with deep integrity.

Corey's unique qualities set her apart. She is a wise witness, capable of suspending judgment and deeply listening. Her knack for hearing what is being said between the words in a conversation is unparalleled. While Corey has dedicated herself to learning the skills necessary to become a great coach, it is her instincts that truly make her exceptional at what she does.

I probably learned as much from Corey as she did from the program. If I had to pick a word to describe her as a coach, it would be "safe". I would feel safe referring anyone to Corey Dobyns - and that is about the biggest coach compliment I can think of.

Congratulations, Corey.
