If you are a coach, what are you currently studying or have recently studied that you consider continuing education?

I will go first:

I recently finished a course on Cultural Psychology

I just started a course on science-based suicide prevention

I am also expanding my experience and knowledge base about Somatic movement and breath-work in my personal practice.

If you are a client, you might want to inquire about what continuing education your coach is doing? Most coaches spend a lot of money on training, and almost all of that is marketing related. Marketing is important. We have to learn how to thrive financially.

That said, if your coach is not consistently continuing to grow their skills as a coach in a meaningful way, you might want to ask yourself how long it will be before you outgrow their work.

In almost any other helping profession, continuing education is required in order to maintain a license.  That is a good thing. It ensures practitioners are up-to-date with current info and research while expanding their skills. Coaches have no such requirements because there are no licensure requirements to meet. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be doing it.
